A shopfront is the first thing a customer reads about you, and grubby glass is the one thing on it you cannot dress your way out of. Fingerprints on the door, road film on the glass and a sign nobody has touched in a year all say the same thing before anybody walks in.
The pole works the same way here as on a house, which means no ladder blocking your doorway and no scaffold licence for a first floor. Glass, frames and the signage above it all come down in the same visit.
